2012-2013 Scholarship Winners

The Paulding Education Foundation has selected winners and awarded over $16,000 in scholarships to worthy seniors graduating in the county at Senior Nights in May. On June 11, 2013, the Board of Education will formally congratulate the student recipients of the fifteen scholarships managed or awarded by the Paulding Education Foundation. Funds for some of these scholarships are raised through the various fundraising efforts of the Paulding Education Foundation including the 5K Pep Rally, Autumn Golf Classic and Teacher of the Year ceremonies. Local businesses are encouraged to support the foundation and in turn, the students of Paulding county.


Jacqueline Higgins of EPHS accepts the $1,000 Paulding Education Foundation Scholarship and $2,000 Jessica Boles Memorial Scholarship from Jim Ashworth, Chairman of the Paulding Education Foundation.


Paulding Education Foundation Board Members, Don Barbour of AT&T and Karen Vines of PCSD, present a $1000 Paulding Education Foundation Scholarship to Natalie Walker of PCHS.

Natalie Rose Walker (Paulding County High School) to attend University of Georgia
Sarah Harris (Hiram High School) to attend Cornell University
Jacqueline Higgins (East Paulding High School) to attend Kennesaw State University
Jessica Teagle (North Paulding High School) to attend Berry College
Jordan Miller (South Paulding High School) to attend Georgia Tech
Five Foundation awards of a $1,000.00 scholarship to a graduating senior at each high school.
The criteria for selection are based on grades, community involvement and contributions, and economic need.

WESLEY RAKESTRAW SCHOLARSHIP 2013
Jesse Locklear (Paulding County High School) to attend Georgia Tech
One $3,000.00 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior with a 2.5 or higher GPA and being an active member in a civic organization or club.

Robertson Loia Roof ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP 2013
Morgan Howell (East Paulding High School) to attend Shorter University
Jesse Locklear (Paulding County High School) to attend Georgia Tech
Destin Thomas (Hiram High School) to attend Kennesaw State University
Three $1,000.00 scholarship are awarded to a graduating senior at each of the following schools; East Paulding, Paulding, and Hiram High School who is majoring in math or science related field including but not limited to Architecture or Engineering.

JESSICA BOLES SCHOLARSHIP 2013
Jacqueline Higgins (East Paulding High School) to attend Kennesaw State University
A $2,000.00 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior at East Paulding High School in the memory of Jessica Boles by her parents, Bill and Cheryl Boles. The criteria for selection are based on academics, community involvement and contributions, and economic need.

SHEFFIELD FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP 2013
Morgan Benson (Paulding County High School) to attend Berry College
This is a Scholarship Fund established by The Sheffield Family and is available only to students who attend Paulding County High School. This program seeks to encourage excellence and achievement in both academics and participation in community/club or organizations activities.

HUBERT AND BETTY MARTIN SCHOLARSHIP 2013
Leah Speigleman (Paulding County High School) to attend University of Georgia
A $1,000.00 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior at Paulding County High School. The criteria for selection are based on academics and participation in the community or with an organization.

The Blue Diamond SCHOLAR ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP 2013
John Bloye (North Paulding High School) to attend Covenant College
This is a Scholarship Fund established by Blue Diamond Sports Inc. and the amount to be awarded will be $500.00 for a graduating Senior from one of the high schools in Paulding County.

HANDS OF HYGIENE SCHOLARSHIP 2013
Morgan Howell (East Paulding High School) to attend Shorter University
A $500.00 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from one of the high schools in Paulding County. The criteria for selection are based on academics, accepted to an accredited hygiene program, community involvement and contributions, and economic need.
