5K and Fun Run Begin at 8 AM

Saturday, November 8th, is the Extreme Family Field Day 5K Run (and walk!) and Fun Run! The 5K is a Rain or Shine Event, but we are expecting the weather to be perfect for us on Saturday.
Bag Pickup: If you chose a school for pickup, your race bag/tshirts/bib will be sent home with the STUDENT AND SCHOOL YOU CHOSE ON THE REGISTRATION FORM. Bibs may arrive separately. If you did not choose a school, your bibs will be available for pick up at the Board of Education building at 3236 Atlanta Highway between 10-4 pm. You may update your registration with this information by logging back into your registration.
Check In: There is no need to check in as long as you have your bib clearly displayed on the FRONT. Please line up on the sidewalk in front of the ball fields along Vendor Alley. It wil be clearly marked.
Parking: Please park in the lot closest to the ball fields. Parking will not be allowed after 7:50 am since runners will be using the park roads. Plan to arrive prior to 7:30 am to ensure you do not have to park in satellite parking and walk a large distance to the race.
Late Registration: Late registration is available on http://www.active.com/powder-springs-ga/running/races/extreme-family-field-day-2014 until November 6th. Same day late registration is available but please arrive by 7 am to register by the 7:30 am cut off. Tshirts are not guaranteed with late registration.
Time: The 5K race will begin at 8 am. Walkers and strollers are welcome but please line up toward the rear.

The course involves stepping up and down 3 curbs. They will be clearly marked, but please pay attention to these areas and allow safety to prevail. When on a road, always stay in the RIGHT LANE.
Timing: All runners (free and paid) will be timed and eligible for prizes. Please wear your bib number ON THE FRONT. A clock will be clearly displayed at the finish and we will email times after the race and place on our website. This is a USATF certified course.
Awards: Will be presented at approximately 8:45 am from the stage Trophies will be provided to the top male and female overall. The male and female 1st place finishers in each of the age categories (Under 20, 20-35, 36-50, 50 and Over) will receive a medal if you provided your age/birthdate. Fun Run runners will receive a finishers ribbon.
Fun Run: The Fun Run will begin at approximately 8:10 am once all of the 5K runners have crossed the start line. You are welcome to run/walk with your child if that will make your child more comfortable. It will be approximately 1K. This race will not be timed.
Water: A water station will be supplied about 1.5 miles into the race. Water will be available at the end of the race for entrants.
Restrooms: Restrooms are available in the park pavilion.
Immediately after the race, we will open our Extreme Day Carnival and Obstacle Challenge. Walk up registration for the 16 obstacle 1 mile course will be available that morning or via active.com this week. This event can be run as an individual or a team and is only $20 per registration. Carnival games wristbands are available at a preorder price of $15, and will be $20 on Saturday, and include over 20 rides and games. Breakfast and lunch concessions are available. Plan to make it a full day of fun!
